# Obelism media (/docs)

Obelism media is the library of files every Obelism product shares: images, video, PDFs and anything else your sites and teams use. Content's pages show its files, the Obelism Shopify app adds them to products, and agents read and sort them through an [agent API](/docs/api/agent) and an [MCP server](/docs/agents).

## What it does [#what-it-does]

- **Folders**, nested, per Space, with tags and search across all of them. [Folders](/docs/library/folders)
- **A file's details**: a title and alt text in every language of the Space, a focal point that crops keep, tags, and private files. [Details](/docs/library/details)
- **Uploads of any size**, sent in parts, so a dropped connection costs one part. [Uploads](/docs/library/uploads)
- **Upload rules** that sort files into folders and tag them by their file name. [Upload rules](/docs/library/rules)
- **CSV imports and exports**, to add files from URLs or edit details in bulk in a spreadsheet. [Imports](/docs/library/imports)
- **Shares**: a link and a password that open files or a folder to people outside your Organization, for a week by default. [Shares](/docs/library/shares)
- **Shopify products on files**, placed where they are in the picture, with suggestions, and imported into your store with their alt text and hotspots. [Shopify](/docs/shopify)

## Where it lives [#where-it-lives]

media works per **Space**: one site or project of your Organization. A Space's files are shared by its environments (`develop`, `staging` and `production`), so promoting content never copies a file. The library is at [media.obelism.studio/dashboard](https://media.obelism.studio/dashboard); Content's sidebar **Media** opens it on the same Space.

media is a service under every Organization, like numbers: there is no plan or switch for it. Every member who may open a Space sees its files; admins, developers and editors change them.

## Two hosts [#two-hosts]

- **media.obelism.studio**: the library, its [agent API](/docs/api/agent) and its [MCP server](/docs/agents).
- **files.obelism.studio**: the [raw files](/docs/files/raw-files), exactly as uploaded and protected by default, and the [shares](/docs/library/shares).

What a site shows comes from Content's optimized URLs, not from either: see [files in Content](/docs/files/in-content).
