Agents and MCP

Connect Claude, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client to Obelism media, and let it browse, describe, tag, sort and share the files in your image library.

media has an MCP server at https://media.obelism.studio/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Its tools are the agent API's operations:

ToolDoes
listOrganizationsYour Organizations, with your role
listSpacesAn Organization's Spaces you may open
listFilesA folder's files, or every folder's by name, tag or Shopify product
getFileOne file's details, where Content uses it, and its original behind a 15-minute link
listFoldersEvery folder, with how many files it holds
listSharesThe Space's shares, or those holding one file
listUploadRulesThe Space's upload rules, in order
updateFileA file's title and alt text per language, focal point, tags or folder
uploadFileAdds a file from an https URL, sorted by the upload rules unless a folder is named
createFolderA new folder
changeFolderRenames or moves a folder
deleteFolderDeletes an empty folder
moveFilesMoves files into a folder
createShareA share of files or a folder; answers the link and the password once

It signs in with OAuth: on first use the client opens media in the browser, you sign in with your Obelism account and allow the connection. There is no key to copy. The read tools come with scope media:read; the tools that change something only when the client also asks for media:write, which the consent screen lists. Either way the agent acts as you, as far as your role in each Space allows: changes take an admin, developer or editor role.

Access lasts while the client keeps using it and ends after 30 days unused. See and disconnect the agents connected to media under Connected on the library's Agents page, or every product's under Connected apps on your Obelism account.

Claude Code

The Obelism plugin connects media together with Content, Improve and numbers:

/plugin marketplace add Obelism/sdk
/plugin install obelism@obelism

Or add the server alone:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user obelism-media https://media.obelism.studio/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick obelism-media and choose Authenticate.

Claude

Add https://media.obelism.studio/mcp as a custom connector, or install the Obelism plugin.

Codex

codex mcp add obelism-media --url https://media.obelism.studio/mcp
codex mcp login obelism-media

Cursor and others

Add the server to the client's MCP config:

{
	"mcpServers": {
		"obelism-media": { "url": "https://media.obelism.studio/mcp" }
	}
}

The Agents page in the library shows the server's address, the Claude Code command and the agent API's description too, with what an agent may do there.

What to ask

  • "Which images in Campaigns/Summer have no Dutch alt text yet?"
  • "Move every file tagged lookbook into a Lookbook folder."
  • "Share the Press folder with a password until Friday."
  • "Which files show the denim jacket?"

Marks in the margin

Scribes marked doubtful lines in the margin. That practice is called obelism.
